چکیده
Abstract This study demonstrates that dibutyltin‐dilaurate (DBTL), commonly used to catalyze condensation‐cured silicone elastomers, causes dynamic behavior in the network, which is attributed catalyst finding a way become part of elastomer network. Furthermore, it establishes by choosing an appropriate silanol‐terminated polydimethylsiloxane (HO‐PDMS‐OH) chain length, gelation system without cross‐linker. To best authors' knowledge, this first time DBTL shown, apart from catalytic effect, have ability act as

The Dynamic Testing of Elastomers
Elastomers are finding wider and wider applications throughout industry. For example, the automotive industry is continually attempting to improve fuel efficiency. The resulting reduction in body and engine weights put increasing pressure on suspension and sound insulation designers to meet the car buyers demands for improved ride quality and quiet cars. Designers are no longer satisfied with s...
متن کاملBeyond rheology modifications: hydrophilically modified silicone elastomers provide new benefits.
The development of silicone elastomers with hydrophilic functionality in the form of PEG substituents provides benefits beyond the rheology modification (thickening) that can be achieved with silicone elastomers that lack functional substituents. We have shown that PEG-modified dimethicone crosspolymer (PEG-DCP) is an effective emulsifier for water-in-silicone (w/s) emulsions where the continuo...
متن کاملFever and neutrophilic alveolitis caused by a vanadium based catalyst.
AIMS To investigate a worker who experienced systemic and respiratory symptoms when exposed to a vanadium containing powder used as a catalyst in the production of maleic anhydride. METHODS The investigation included inhalation challenge with the suspected compound combined with monitoring of lung function tests and post-challenge bronchoalveolar lavage. RESULTS Exposure to the vanadium con...
متن کاملIncorporation of silicone oil into elastomers enhances barnacle detachment by active surface strain.
Silicone-oil additives are often used in fouling-release silicone coatings to reduce the adhesion strength of barnacles and other biofouling organisms. This study follows on from a recently reported active approach to detach barnacles, which was based on the surface strain of elastomeric materials, by investigating a new, dual-action approach to barnacle detachment using Ecoflex®-based elastome...
متن کاملReversible dilated cardiomyopathy caused by idiopathic hypoparathyroidism
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is usually an idiopathic disease with a poor prognosis. Hypocalcemia is a rare and reversible cause of DCM. Here, we report a 50-year-old female with DCM, induced by idiopathic hypoparathyroidism, that improved after treatment with calcium.
